Erik Marshall, Lead Pastor
I came to Copley UMC in July of 2015 after serving in the Cleveland Heights area, and I’m so excited to be a part of what God is doing!  In June of 2014 I became a Full Elder in the United Methodist Church.  I received my Masters of Divinity Degree at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, OH.  I also received valuable experience as a youth pastor and missionary to Haiti for 3 years.  My wife Amanda is a full-time mom and abolitionist, raising awareness about the injustice of human trafficking and sharing her experience as a fellow at the Polaris Project in Washington, D.C.  Amanda also recently completed her Masters degree in Social Entrepreneurship from Carson-Newman University.  Amanda and I are so blessed to have a 5 year-old son, Asher.

I am blessed to be the Worship  Leader (and now the Youth Pastor!) at Copley UMC. I am a recent graduate of the University of Mount Union (class of 2016), where I attained a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with minor focuses in both music and psychology. I plan to attend Ashland Theological Seminary this fall in order to attain a Masters in Divinity, and further my career path towards ordination as an Elder in the United Methodist Church. Since my father is an elder in the United Methodist Church, I have I grown up in various places throughout eastern Ohio. The experience of moving every five to six years has been instrumental in shaping my perspective on the church, and on the people of Ohio. I am passionate about music, and even more passionate about authentic worship led with a purpose. I am excited to be a part of the leadership at Copley UMC, and even more excited to build relationships with the people in the surrounding area.
Amy Ryant, Children’s Ministries
I’m so excited to serve as the new Director of Children and Families Ministries! I have lived in Ohio for almost 20 years and have loved being a resident of Copley since 2009. I am, first and foremost, a mother. I have two boys, Jack who is in 5th grade, and Sean who will be starting Kindergarten soon. Since 2011, I have been actively involved in the PTA, volunteering as Head Room Parent and planning and leading other events throughout the school years. For the last few years, I have held the Council position of Committee Chairman for the local Cub Scout Pack 3384. Currently, I own and operate a small in-home daycare, Amy’s Angels Childcare. I have found that I thoroughly enjoy working with children and I have decided to make it my career with plans to become a teacher in the future. I am very excited about this opportunity to teach your children the Christian faith and the love of our God.
